France opens Euro 2016 on shaky ground despite win
Host nation and tournament favorites France needed a late stunner from Dmitri Payet to see off Romania in a tightly contested opening game as EURO 2016 got underway.Arsenal's Olivier Giroud gave France the lead justbefore the hour mark but Bogdan Stancu kept hiscool to slot home a penaltyseven minutes later. Payet saved Les Bleus' when he sent a stunning strike into the top corner from the edge of the box, securing all three points.
